CSNS Convention Issues Invitation to Clubs and Organizations
The Central States Numismatic Society’s 81st Anniversary Convention will be held April 20-25, 2020 at the Schaumburg, Illinois convention center and adjoining Renaissance Hotel. The security room and convention registration will open on Monday, April 20, with Heritage auction lot viewing getting underway on Tuesday, April 21. Heritage’s multi-session Signature Sales for world and ancient coins, world paper money, United States coins and United States paper money will take place Wednesday through Friday, with the 300+ booth bourse area open to the public April 22-25.
Patricia Foley, Bourse Chairman for the event, has issued an invitation to clubs and numismatic organizations to hold membership meetings in conjunction with the convention. She said, “Being there in person and being able to meet and socialize with people who share your collecting interests and passions is one of the advantages of actually coming to a numismatic convention. A number of groups are already scheduled to meet at our Rosemont event, including Women in Numismatics, the Professional Currency Dealers Association, the Liberty Seated Collectors Club, the International Order of Wooden Money Collectors and the Society of Christian Numismatists. While reading books and magazines about any area of interest certainly provides learning experiences, for my money actually connecting with other people who share your interests simply can’t be surpassed when it comes to expanding your knowledge about any aspect of life. To schedule a meeting in Schaumburg for your club or organization, just call Convention Chairman Kevin Foley at (414) 807-0116 or e-mail him at kevinsfoley.kf@gmail.com.”
Foley continued, “Our Schaumburg Convention Center is very convenient to get to, with an I-90 freeway exit literally 30 seconds away from the Renaissance Hotel parking lot. Free parking for both overnight guests and day visitors is an especially popular feature of our event. We’re located just ten miles and a roughly $28 Uber fare from O’Hare Airport. The greater Chicago area is literally the crossroads of America, with two major hub airports, O’Hare and Midway and Chicago’s Union Station for rail fans.”
To make sleeping room reservations at the Renaissance Hotel event site call the hotel at (847) 303-4100 and mention “Central States Numismatic 2020” for the discounted event rate of $169.
